I can't forsee the GOP nominating an atheist no matter his views on the hot issues. That was my point is raising the question.

It doesn't have anything to do with voters' opinion of athiesm. It has to do with the probability and the population of athiests. Among Christians/Theists, you will find a handful of people who are capable of rising through the ranks to national leadership. Among athiests, you not only have a much smaller 'talent' pool, but that pool is more likely have members that engage in self-destructive, anti-social behavior than the non-athiest American population. I'm sure you are a swell guy but most athiests are a pretty despicable lot.

As a secular right winger I will vote for him above McCain and Rudy in the primanys, and for sure in the general.
