Elect Darren Morrison for Colorado House District 53

Elect Darren Morrison for Colorado House District 53 and I will represent the people of District 53 and not the interest of the major political parties.

I was born in Boulder Colorado, raised on a farm in Boulder County, and moved to Fort Collins at age 18. I served in the Army National Guard and then in the United States Navy, where I was a combat trained medic with the Marine Corps. I served proudly and was honorably discharged. Veterans concerns will be always my concerns if elected.

I work for Colorado State University as a custodian and have worked there for the past 10 years. I know what it is like to have to get up every morning to get to work and do labor. I know what it is like to live pay check to pay check and watch Uncle Sam steal your hard earned money. This district has many state classified employees and I already work hard to make life better for them as part of the State Classified Personnel Council and will continue to work for them if elected. I am a born again Christian, I do not intend to hide this fact. I pray and read GOD’s word the Holy Bible. Jesus Christ is first in my life and I hope that all my decision if elected will be Godly decisions.

I am married to my wife and helpmeet Vicki and have two sons, Stuart and Nigel. If elected, I will work to help protect your family as well as mine.

I believe in Property rights and for a person to be secure in there property. I persons home is there castle, a sovereignty onto itself. The government has no right to take someone’s property by distorting the meaning of means of eminent domain. Property should not be annexed into a city without the property owners permission. if the property has been in existence for over 10 years. This should include residential, industrial, commercial or agricultural property. All annexation must be done on undeveloped land or when the development is under ten years old. Forced annexation is a gross abuse of power and must be stopped.

I am one hundred percent on the side of life. According to The Declaration of Independence "We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." All means all this includes the born and unborn. We are violating our own founding documents when we brutally kill unborn children in this country. The culture of death must stop and we must as a people begin to value human life again. I can never in good conscience ever vote in favor of infanticide.

The bible does not include the color of the skin of people. Since skin color is not important to my GOD it is not important to me. It is just as evil to discriminate against ones skin color as it is to give special preferences because of ones skin color or heritage, through quotas for education or employment.

I do know what “shall not infringe” means. Law abiding citizens shall not lose their rights to self-defense under my watch. Self-defence is a basic human right. Punish those who use guns to commit violent acts or use any weapon to violate another persons rights, but not those who own guns or want to purchase a gun. Make ammo accessible and not make any laws that would prohibit or hinder citizens of Colorado from legally keeping and attaining firearms.

There is a growing movement to remove our religious freedoms. Especially the freedom of Christian churches and more specifically fundamental and evangelical churches are targets of the left. They want to take away our ability to preach against homosexuality, immorality, abortion, evolution and other doctrines including the biblical doctrine of salvation only through Jesus Christ. They call this intolerant and want to make hate speech laws that would ban such sermons in our churches as well as our homes.

In the early nineties the liberals in Washington tried to push forward a law that would make it illegal to support Christian missionaries. Also making the wearing of religious symbols in the work place or school religious harassment.

When asked if my Christian beliefs will get in my way of doing my job in the state house I will have to reply with “I truly hope so”. I will never go against the teachings of my faith as written in my bible. I will prayerfully do my job. I will fight to restore religious freedom in Colorado.

It is sad that our State of Colorado spends more of your hard earned money on benefits for illegal immigrants than they do on our veterans. Illegal immigrants raise our crime rate. Some of the most violent criminals at large today are illegal aliens.

Illegal immigrants do not take jobs nobody wants that is a myth. The fact is they take jobs that American once had and are now seeking. I know Coloradoans who are out of work because of illegal immigrates taking their jobs at a much lower pay. I have a friend who lost his home and car because he lost his job of over 15 years when he was replaced with several illegal immigrants. I know a person who will lose his business and cause his employees to become unemployed because companies who hire illegal immigrants under bid him. Those who say Illegal immigrants are harder working than Americans are liars.

I will fight to prevent tax dollars to give social services for these criminals or to give them instate tuition to our universities.

I will fight for our veterans to insure them preference points for state jobs. Those who joined to fight for our freedom in our armed services need to be honored. I want to personally thank those who served in peacetime and during times of war. THANK YOU.

If elected I will represent the people of my district and involve those I represent in all my decisions. I will also host monthly discussion meetings as well.

Well, I can't vote for ya because I don't live near the area. But here's my advise: Think chess. Anticipate the things that they'll hurl against you and nuke them using their own words, historical references and the FR search engine. Leave them babbling, "But, but, but, but..." after you're done. But, remember that they'll be using a similar tactic and they'll be ready to strike back. Use legality on your side, and make the point that they advocate illegal activities: BREAKING THE LAWS.

If district 53 includes Boulder, you're gonna have a tough battle. Feel free to ask more if you like. You know where I'll be.

House District 53 is the west side of Fort Collins and surrounding area.

The district is currently represented by a Dem, Angie Paccione. She's vacating the seat to run for Congress.

I can't find much about the political demographics of the district though.

This is who I am running against The Dem is a guy named Randy Fischer (owner of a small engineering consulting business.)

The GOP is a lady named Anne Yeldell (She is the former director for the Poudre School District Board of Education).
