Name the people here who are FOR open borders.I doubt that there are such people.
But I think that there are plenty of people here who would announce for open borders if W. did. And, they would claim that it was a brilliant move.

Why work? If they can make it into California the state promises them free benefits AND forbids state workers from even asking what their citizenship is.
Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

The minute men aren't vigilantees, they look for crime then call the federal officers and report it. I didn't say they were .. and neither did the president
YOU are the ones that keep claiming that

I see. So in an article written about the Minutemen, "President Bush yesterday said he opposes a civilian project to monitor illegal aliens crossing the border, characterizing them as "vigilantes". But that doesn't qualify in your book. Whatever. Geepers Skip. An article says something without giving the actual quotes and you except it as fact.
Whatever -- back at you skippy.
To: FreeReign
Bush was asked about his feeling about the Minutemen.
His reply: "I'm against vigilantes in the United States of America"
This has NEVER been disputed. The Minutemen know it, Newsmax reported it. Rush Limbaugh also acknowledged it. Sean Hannity acknowledged it. Laura Ingraham acknowledged it. It is fact. He called them vigilantes.
So, come out of the closet. You can either stand by your weak arguement that Bush never called the Minutemen vigilantes or you can come out of that closet and just say what you really think which is you think the Minutemen ARE vigilantes.
Be proud of who you are.

Or did some just assume and put words into his mouth?

Geepers Skip. An article says something without giving the actual quotes and you except it as fact. So did you actually read my post #457 to you with an extended quote and a link to the article in the Washington Times?
If that's not good enough for you, nothing will be.

"Wow, they're watching this thread closely. I have no idea what post 492 was, but it lasted about 2 seconds."
I was responding to it when it was pulled. I didn't see anything controversial in it. Maybe I'm next?
To: Junior_G
Oh, I've been through it on many threads, but it's nice of you to assume I haven't. Then why are you playing dumb now? It's not like it's going to persuade anyone that Bush wasn't referring to the Minutemen. You accused Bush of calling the Minutment vigliantes. It's up to you to prove it. So far you haven't.
What part of that are you too dopey to get?

Anyone know what Cheney's opinion is on the matter? As far as I know, he hasn't said too much about the issue.
It would be a sad day if the Dems took the House of Reps and drafted articles of impeachment. How would President Bush do in the Senate if it came down to a vote? More importantly, would Cheney be up to the task if called?
President Bush sure isn't shy about taking on fights. How many groups is he fighting right now?
1. Taliban/Afghanistan
2. Pushten Tribes/Pakistan
3. Iraq
4. N.Korea
5. U.N.
6. Democrats
7. Republican base
8. ...

Bush was asked about his feeling about the Minutemen. His reply: "I'm against vigilantes in the United States of America" Bush wasn't asked about the Minutemen. Do you want me to get the transcript and give you the full quoted context of the question?
To: onyx
---Facts don't matter---
Well maybe you could help establish a fact for me if you don't mind. Are you in favor of illegals coming into country? Are you in favor of granting them citizenship once they are here?
That's two facts. Sorry.
To clarify, I am not in favor of either.

I think you are flat out wrong. But I understand how you could feel that way.
Because if I use my emotions instead of my brain I believe that there are plenty of Ann Coulter or Michael Savage devotees who might blindly follow their leaders.
Fortunately, after I filter that feeling through my head, I give people the benefit of the doubt until I'm proved wrong.

I support the Minutemen.
Your above logic is stooopid.
To: RHINO369
Plus when our own government refuses to follow the law I would support vigilantes. Hear, hear. I can't see how "those who are vigilant" when it comes to preventing our borders from being overrun by invaders can be cast in a negative light.
