Are you saying that the citizens of South Carolina cannot be allowed to decide how they will live? I'd like to know why not.

You are beyond belief! Your idea of allowing the citizens to decide is to tell them what they cannot do in their own bedroom. There are supposed to be limits on majority rule, otherwise we have the world's worst form of government, a pure democracy.

Indeed. What if the people of South Carolina decided it was perfectly permissable to make owning an SUV illegal? According to Mr. Paulsen there, it would be within their rights.
