I guess we agree.
You are correct. The limo-lib establishment was just waiting for some bozo-politico from Arkansas and his wife. Now, back to McCarthy. I don't think anyone has commented on what an important position she held at the CIA. The Inspector General's office is important for a number of reasons, the most important being the knowledge of just who might be under investigation at the CIA itself. Thus the liberal-left had a mole at the highest level of the agency.
Second, William Goodfellow must now be worried that when the CIA focused on his wife Dana Priest their investigation might have then looked into the possibility that she shared highly classified material with her husband, and that her husband used the material to the benefit of the very left wing CIP and their operation on Iraq and Libya.
Third, the Washington Post must now be worried that the CIA in looking at the McCarthy-Priest relationship might also have done some digging on other aspects of the WaPo operation to discredit both the CIA and the Bush Administration. No wonder Downie sounds worried.
Fourth, if Justice hooked on to Priest for some time it likely monitored her phonecalls. That should worry one hell of a lot of people in the State Department.
Hopefully, if the Justice Department did its job correctly the whole sordid WaPo business will come unravelled very soon.
