There are many posts on this thread dealing with the secret prison story being false.
Do we know if was false or was she reporting secret info that damaged national security?
Well that's a good question.
I know that -I- don't know if it's true or false. I know some guy in Europe said it wasn't true.
If my contention is right and it was a setup sting, than the story is likely false. Still the CIA guy, if the sting was done correctly, would have thought it was very true and so would the reporter taking the info.
Now whether a reporter could go to jail for breaking the intelligence law over fabricated sting story, I dunno. At any rate I don't think any of the drive-by media will ever see any jail time over any of their stories. The PR is just too damning and besides, stop the leaks at the professionals who are PAID to keep it quiet and no need to lock up the drive-by.
Which is not to say I wouldn't like to see some of them spend time behind bars, I just don't see it happening. The Moonbats will be out and about and claiming the U.S. is no better than China. For now I think they're mainly going after the government leakers.
It does not matter. The only consideration is how much harm was done. Kinda like with the Pollard guy. Divulging classified information to anyone else (even if the person "knows" that the other party is authorized) is the crime. The punishment increases substantially if harm is proven. This person is screwed, blued, and tattooed. They will be safer in general population with a big sign that says "Short Eyes". There is no witness protection inside. And there is no whistleblower provision for this kind of deal where there was NO request for review. This person was an insider.
