The international community is speeding down the same track that led to U.S. military intervention in Iraq. Four key components caused the U.S.-led invasion in Iraq and those same components are in play now regarding Iran. If the international community plays out its hand just as it did in the case of Iraq, we will find ourselves achieving the exact same result, or even worse.
1 The mad man at the helm component
2 The ongoing threat of long range international terrorism component
3 The if we ignore them, they will go away component (A and B)
4 The reliable ole USA component

Hypothetical Question: While I believe we will have to confront these clowns sooner or later, can we afford another low-level conflict involving a sizable portion of an unruly civilian population willing to wage guerrilla warfare at the present time?
I am sure they will replay it and everyone should try to catch it.
You really think it was a fair election???
Lost the war with Iraq? My friend you may want to check your history books.
Please enlighten me if that is not correct? The show said that Iran declared to the world that it was giving up on the war with Iraq because America had intervened. It has never forgiven America for that. What is not correct about that?
Which brings rise to the question, why do they need nuclear power for civilian purposes while sitting on one of the worlds largest oil supplies?
No... and that's why I think more decisive measures will be used if push comes to shove.
I do not disagree that Iran still hates us for supplying Iraq with weapons in their war. But if you look at maps pre Iran/Iraq war and post war, Iran did conquer part of Iraq that is now considered Iran. In my book taking over land that used to belong to someone else, makes you the winner.
Which brings rise to the question, why do they need nuclear power for civilian purposes while sitting on one of the worlds largest oil supplies?
They don't. They want nukes for the same reason everyone else in the world wants nukes.
So they don't end up being last to get nukes.
Countries with nukes are higher on the pecking order than those without.
Just look at india and pakistan.
Are you suggesting that the Iranian President is being less than truthful in his stated purposes for nulcear energy?
thats why you deal with it in their conceptual way of dealing with Israel.... you annihilate it with the fires of hell.....or what exactly did they say? mirror the image.
whats good for the goose is good for the gander?
Are you suggesting that the Iranian President is being less than truthful in his stated purposes for nulcear energy?
All I'm saying is that he is a politician, and all politicians LIE, (and they lie all the time)
Me thinks Iran will go all out with the "Great Satan" in the country and they are willing to suffer casualties in the Millions.
The best thing we can do is to pull an Afghanistan and sent Special Forces armed with nonstop Air Support and eventually we will send in the Marines to secure the nuclear sites. American forces should not allow more than 20,000 troops enter Iran.
We should let the warlords operate the rest of the country, they will be bitches all right but nevertheless they will be our bitches. They can grow opium if they want. They just have to make sure Hezbollah is not receiving any support.
No, we will not use such methods and neither will Israel except in the last act when it is all over for us. There is still ethics for us if not for them.
You are dreaming.
They already had their change of government, in 1979.
Man, I wish every war had turned out like Iraq.
Exactly, and more secular. Iran is like Afgahnistan, except with a hell of a lot more to work with.
Those 13 year old boys probably had a rifle at their back. Had Iraq been able to decapitate the Iranian government, it would have been a different war.
That election was mostly boycotted by Iranians. Boy, you are all over the place today defending despots.
Your name says it all.... troll.
Defending despots?
Boycott? All they had to do is not elect him...
