I'm finding that more and more, I'm tuning out the news and instead, listening to music, working in the yard, and reading. I'm afraid that I have even put Free Republic on the back burner lately. It just is getting so depressing and discouraging. I'm trying to fill my life with more positive activities.

I had a wonderful day with my two youngest grandchildren. I took Andrew (nearly three) and Grace (15 months) to a petting zoo. (We used nearly a whole small bottle of Curel hand sanitizer.) Then to McDonalds for lunch and up to Mt. Rushmore for ice cream. The only nap they got was in the 10 minute ride from the "faces" to our house. We had a great time and gave my daughter-in-law a chance to shampoo her carpets. My back is killing me. Gracie decided she forgot how to walk about half way through the trip and wanted to be carried. It was fun.....and I was able to put Haditha, bird flu, immigration, terror threats, etc. out of my mind.

I really believe we all need to just step away from the TV and computer more often and focus on what's really meaningful in our lives. I'm not saying that stuff isn't important, but, I need to keep it in perspective.

Just ramblin' a bit here and feeling a little introspective on the eve of my birthday. I still check in here a couple times a day.

Oh, poop. I meant for the above post to be a "private reply".

Sorry.
