This just went off to Schieffer

By their own admission, several retired generals willingly and knowingly sent men and women into combat using a "bad plan". My question to you is do you have the intestinal fortitude to demand an apology from these officers to the parents, husbands, wives and children these officers sent into harms way on missions these officers felt did not have the prospects for success they should have had? Additionally, no officer registers a complaint about something like this without a CYA memorandum for the record. Do you have the intestinal fortitude to demand to see these CYA docs? A real journalist would. Now are you a real journalist or not?

This is pretty much what I will be sending off this weekend.

Michael Smerconish has filled in for Joe Scarborough this week on MSNBC and has been excellent. Never heard from him before but I have to tell ya this guy was GREAT.

Really good email  I'm betting they're all at their vacation homes at the shore, but maybe they'll see it Monday.

here's a good thread.

US generals call for Rumsfeld’s ouster [Leftism behind the effort exposed.]

examining the motives of these guys based on the phrases they choose to use in framing their attacks.  Straight out of MoveOn.ORGs script for groups like Code Pink and remarkably like what John Kerry said about Vietnam and is saying now.  You can argue with the poster's interpretation of what they say, but I agree with the conclusion he draws.

These loons really didn't learn anything from Vietnam.  My question is, did we?

It's time to stomp on these guys.  Hard!

I'm not questioning their patriotism.  I'm outright accusing them of either

1) dereliction of duty for carrying out orders they now claim they knew at the time were based on lies and were therefore illegal

or, the only alternative,

2) treason and providing aid and comfort to the enemy in tme of war.
In either case they're guilty of violating their oaths and violating the UCMJ.
