The U.S. military has announced that the largest air assualt in 4 years in Afghanistan is underway in Kunar province. It was kicked off 15 hours ago, but a news embargo was imposed. An attempt has been made to keep the Al Queda and Taliban opposition contained so that they will not escape.
Several thousand coalition soldiers are involved. The exit passes are being held since it was believed that too many opposition forces escaped during the previous Operation Anaconda.
LOL
What? Did you say something? I was concentrating on a discussion I have going on FR. ; ).
Hand me the remote, please.
Teaching eco-feminism. :)
Now that I've caught up on this thread...I am pleased to see that channel flipping bugs you as much as it does me. Gives me hope for the future of civilization. It's fine if one is alone, but nothing is more irritating than the person "in charge of the remote" flipping when there is a crowd of people. I have to leave the room.
Back to the topic of the thread: Prayers for our troops. I am actually thrilled that we are not getting much info right now. It gives them a better opportunity to be 100% effective, imo.

6 Insurgents Are Killed in Afghanistan
Staff and agencies
12 April, 2006
ASADABAD, Afghanistan - Coalition and Afghan forces, backed by military aircraft, killed six insurgents Wednesday in northeastern Afghanistan , the U.S. military said.
It came a day after a missile believed fired by militants toward a U.S. base in the Kunar provincial town of Asadabad, about 105 miles northeast of the capital, Kabul, landed in a school and killed seven students.
The military said, however, that it was part of an ongoing anti-insurgent campaign in the region, dubbed Operation Mountain Lion.
The U.S. military described the Pech River Valley region as a stronghold for insurgents, including remnants of the toppled Taliban regime that has stepped up its campaign of attacks against coalition and Afghan forces.
Agreed. The terrorists' best allies have been neutralized, for the time being anyway.
How much does one get paid for that? I can BS with the best of 'em. ; ).
Part of the reason for low poll numbers, IMO.
Prayers up!
Dead terrorists = 6.
She found herself torn between gales of laughter and waves of nausea.
Not one person in her program took the poor woman seriously. Fortunately it only lasted a few hours. :)

Troops Find Weapons Caches Across Afghanistan
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, April 12, 2006 Afghan and coalition troops continue to find and dispose of weapons caches throughout Afghanistan, Combined Forces Command Afghanistan officials reported.
In Kunar province today, coalition forces discovered a cache of 7.62 mm rounds, 81 mm rounds and a rocket-propelled grenade.
Last night in Kandahar province, Afghan National Army and coalition forces discovered another weapons cache. Elements of the Afghan National Army's 2nd Kandak, 1st Brigade, 205th Corps, were searching a compound along with coalition forces in the village of Pirgadam in Kandahar province when they discovered the cache. It included rocket-propelled grenades and materials to build improvised explosive devices.
The compound belonged to a Taliban facilitator who has plotted to ambush and kill Afghan government officials and coalition forces, officials said.
No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.
Separately, a government official in Ghazni province turned over a large cache of weapons to coalition forces. It included mines, mine fuses, heat grenades, and TNT.
I want him dead, dead, dead. Give the liberals no chance to turn his trial into a circus and make him a hero.
Thanks for the update. I'm passing this onto military waiting to be shipped overseas.
If we do get him, the dems will proclaim the timing to be suspicious...
Gives me hope for GenX. :)
GET THESE MONSTERS!! HOOAH!!
