""As soon as the summit is decapitated, the structure feels the blow," Grasso said but "the vacuum will be filled.""
Mixed metaphors are a pain in the neck and ought to be weeded out.

Mixed metaphors are a pain in the neck and ought to be weeded out. Nevertheless, they keep rolling along, streaming down the road, too chicken to stop to smell the coffee.

Yep, they should be nipped faster than you can say Jack Robinson in the bud.

You know THAT is actually based on what real Mafia guys did try to do, right? Vincent (Chin) Gigante, among others.

AHA! So you admit you took the bull by the green horns of a dilemma and stole someone's blue blood and thunder!

I have always wondered which is the better way of life: Mafia rule for those who choose to surrender to the life, Socialist rule or our current rulers.
At least under mafia rule, you can get your license or whatever for a mere bribe. Under current rule, you not only have to submit your bribe but suffer intolerable lengths of time before you are approved for whatever it is you want (that's assuming you are even approved)
Considering our tax structure, isn't that a form of legalized mafia extortion?
The more I think about it, mafia rule would certainly take care of a lot of our major problems such as enviromental wacos and illegal immigration...........

Nobody will ever top Hizzoner, Frank Rizzo, late great Mayor of Philly.
To the press:
"Whatever happens, you a-holes gotta remember
that I ain't the cat what ate the dog in the manger."
After a bumpy flight:
Jeez, I thought my feet would never be on terra cotta again.

No one would have gone to a debate between Frank Rizzo and Yogi Berra -- it would've been too crowded there.
