He is not doing what he is doing out of "ignorance."
He is doing it because he CHOOSES to do it.
You know, until a few days ago, I felt that the best approach was a combination of enforcement and earned legalization of one sort or another.
But, watching these rallies, it's become clear to me that we need to act: now.
This isn't "immigration." It's a massive human invasion and it needs to be treated as such. Look at how many people they can put into the streets. There's a whole Begluim within the United States. In five or ten years there will be an Australia. Within twenty a Canada. Thrity a Great Britian.
What was it that Enoch Powell said? Like the Roman, I seem to see the Tibur foaming with much blood.
Deporting twelve million (probably more, actually) people will be horribly divisive, probably cost the Republican Party the White House in 2008 (and the Congress in 2006) and kill at least a few hundred people.
But it might be necessary.
What else was it that Powell said - that to guard against preventable evils is the supreme function of statesmanship?
If something isn't done, there's going to be another Civil War, I daresay.
Not this August, nor next August. That'll be too soon. Not, indeed, in the days of my youth. But the decade after that or the decade after that, we fight.
