I think English should be declared our NATIONAL language. No Balkanizations whatsoever. Why? English IS our national language.
Do you consider Chinatown in San Francisco a "balkanization"? Or 600 Vietnamese attending a Catholic Mass in Vietnamese, and a dinner afterwards at which everybody speaks in Vietnamese a "balkanization"?

Have you ever been to the community housing in Willows, California? Have you any idea what the fine Vietnamese people and their gangs are like in the area?
I have a friend whose wife assigns medical care to that unproductive group and she knows exactly how much they pay for medical care. $0.00 is their share of the bill. Not bad, huh?

Why? English IS our national language.There is a new ad on TV which states "VIVA Medicare". What a mess we are in. Now can all of us conservatives say "Hooray Medicare". How d@mn stupid is all of this getting to be.

If I can add my 2 cents here, to counter the whitewashing (pardon the pun) on the whole immigration/"speak 'murrican" thing, my great grandparents were Italian immigrants and they pretty much spoke Italian all the time as well.
