A counter protest sign idea:
"Basta!
Vaheémonos!"
Rough translation - "Shut up! Get out!"

I think English should be declared our NATIONAL language. No Balkanizations whatsoever. Why? English IS our national language.
Do you consider Chinatown in San Francisco a "balkanization"? Or 600 Vietnamese attending a Catholic Mass in Vietnamese, and a dinner afterwards at which everybody speaks in Vietnamese a "balkanization"?

You need to get out more. People import these "laborers" by the truckload, and keep them in control. To say it is different from slavery because they could just run away, is disingenuous Slavery? Name a Company that is enslaving workers in this country and provide factual supporting documentation and we may consider your comments - or then again, we may not.

Next they'll demand road signs in Spanish. You wait, it's coming. Actually most road signs are non-lingual.
My beef with the multi-lingual advocates is the cost to the taxpayers, and IMO, most immigrants will learn English, it's the liberals back in the 70's who planted the seed and now we see the results, and I could really care less what language a business owner advertises in or what a family speaks at the dinner table.
Unfortunately some on the right, react to what to the liberals did in the 70's, and blame a whole ethnic group, for the actions of a political militant few.
It ain't going to be easy to turn the ship around, but blaming everybody of an ethnicity is not the solution.

I consider Los Angeles "Baja Los Angeles." Last time I was there, last year, everybody I ran into spoke English. Even the Hispanics.
Don't applicants for citizenship have to demonstrate a certain proficiency in English?
I wish I had learned Spanish better. My grandmother, a second generation Polish girl, could speak English, but she preferred speaking Polish around her family and friends, and always did.

And what is equally odd is the DHS is responsible for both. Maybe you should refuse to supply all that data and get a lawyer and demand to be admitted without, just like the 20+million illegal aliens are demanding rights of our Congress.

I agree also. All official business should be in English. What languages people speak in private conversations or in their houses is their business. But everyone should know English and when working or conducting any kind of business should speak English.

Have you ever been to the community housing in Willows, California? Have you any idea what the fine Vietnamese people and their gangs are like in the area?
I have a friend whose wife assigns medical care to that unproductive group and she knows exactly how much they pay for medical care. $0.00 is their share of the bill. Not bad, huh?
They want to thank people like you who love them for paying your share of their bill.

Don't applicants for citizenship have to demonstrate a certain proficiency in English? When I did the naturalization exam, a few years ago, it consisted of reading and writing a single sentence in English. It was something like 'please tell the dog to sit'.

Well--Let me ask you a question...How do you feel about your tax dollars being used for the welfare checks, education, health care and housing of prisoners who are ILLEGAL aliens?
A response would be appreciated.

Mechanical harvesting key to future of Florida's $9 billion citrus industry
News From
Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences
University of Florida
By Chuck Woods
IMMOKALEE, FLA.---As the Florida citrus industry ramps up its winter harvesting season -- picking a record 252 million boxes of oranges over the next six months -- a small but growing number of producers are beginning to use mechanical harvesters that allow one person to collect more than 90 boxes per hour.
The new tree-shaking harvesting systems are nine times more efficient than picking oranges by hand and will help the state's $9 billion citrus industry compete with low-cost producers such as Brazil, according to researchers with the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. "In today's global citrus market, necessity has become the mother of invention," said Fritz Roka, an associate professor of food and resource economics at UF's Southwest Florida Research and Education Center in Immokalee, who is studying the economic aspects of mechanical harvesting.
"With higher labor costs in Florida and strong competition from low-cost producers such as Brazil, mechanical harvesting is becoming a necessity on the state's 600,000 acres of processed oranges," Roka said.

How do you feel about your tax dollars being used for the welfare checks, education, health care and housing of prisoners who are ILLEGAL aliens? I don't much like it. But, I'm not wild about handing out welfare, free health care or the housing of prisoners who are CITIZENS, either.
