Well, let's see. The farthest back I can remember on the Today Show was Jane Pauley as female host.
I guess the ratings dipped or something and Pauley was dumped for a younger, blonder gal who now does some gossip show. Pauley was regarded as the All American GND, of course she is as fake as Katie and married to that despicable loser Gary Trudeau...but I digress.
Anyway the blonde bimbo didn't work out at all and viewers resented the dumping of the AAG, so they hired Katie, another AAG. She did seem sweet, cute and perky back then, but then her true colors appeared and now, it's hard to even look at her.

She's the perfect replacement for Dan "Fake but Accurate" Rather. I think that's CBS's intent.

You forgot one of the primary qualifications to being the anchor--a left-wing bias in words and body language from the beginning of the first broadcast to the end of the last one.
CBS should make Couric wear a veil to honor her Muslim masters.

"My exact thoughts. Notice how interchangeable the networks are now? They are provably the same company, with different franchises." I was thinking the same thing. What difference does it make where she goes? It's all the same biased "network" of MSM. She has a little more rope in which to hang herself though, which might make for some spectacular blunders, considering she will pack the extra emotional baggage women tend to bring to the job. We'll have Star Jones shrieking in the morning on the View, and Katie Couric in the evening.
Unplug the tv.

It must have been a Freudian slip when Couric said last year that Saddam Hussein had "hopefully" escaped to Syria. She later claimed that the capture of Saddam was only symbolic. Yep, giving the finger to the half of Americans who happen to be conservative is a great strategy. I'm soooooooo impressed. Way to go, SeeBS.

Katie Couric's move from the "Today" show to "The CBS Evening News" brings a "journalist" long known for a distinct liberal bias into the anchor chair once occupied by the revered Walter Cronkite.I don't get it ... what's changed?

"CBS should make Couric wear a veil to honor her Muslim masters." LoL! We should all write in as Muslims, demand that she be covered.

Connie did the unforgivable by covering a major story
(OKC bombing) while Cap'n Dan, the News Man was away on vacation.

The ghastly liberal shrew, Couric will fit right in with the pompous asses at See-B***S***.

I give her at the most 6 months before she crashes and burns. Give or take. There's the initial interest, then the ad sell cycle, then the sweeps, then the bs and excuses and
feminist pressures.
Then, they'll hire Star Jones, after "laying off" all the news staff people ...

" Then, they'll hire Star Jones, after "laying off" all the news staff people ..." That woman is absolutely vile. Her and Joy are in their glory when they get a dingbat like Rosanne Bar on the show. They can't control themselves. I think the two of them generate so much hate mail they have to be told to shut up by the producers every few days..
To: khnyny
Adding Couric is a sign that CBS has moved pretty far to the right.

"And yet New Coke did exactly what it was intended to do! New Coke took the bullet when they substituted corn syrup for granulated sugar! That's why it doesn't taste the same anymore!"
i have often wondered if KO had simply made the sweetener change without the 'new coke' interlude if they would have faced such a public outcry that they would have been heavily pressured to reverse the change. It was obvious immediately that coke classic was different, but people who said so were ridiculed, and no one discussed the sweetener change at that time that i recall. Of course, we depended on print and broadcast media for our news then....
Many foreign countries still use sugar in Coke and it is definitely brings back memories...

we should all write in as Muslims, and demand that she be covered (in a veil)
Alternatively we could write in as liberals and say that putting a woman in such a high profile position will almost certainly cause Muzzie riots--and blast CBS for their insensitivity to a billion people around the world. :-)

"Katie hit the wall and will be spending many days of her vacation under the knife." I only hope she comes out looking as good as Joan Rivers. /sarcasm

You could put a test-pattern on instead of the SeeBS Evening News and get the same audience.
