Papers: Cheney Aide Says Bush OK'd Leak
Associated Press ^ | 4/6/06 | Pete Yost

Posted on 04/06/2006 9:12:16 AM PDT by rwfromkansas

WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney's former top aide told prosecutors President Bush authorized the leak of sensitive intelligence information about Iraq, according to court papers filed by prosecutors in the CIA leak case.

Before his indictment, I. Lewis Libby testified to the grand jury investigating the Valerie Plame leak that Cheney told him to pass on the information and that it was Bush who authorized the leak, the court papers say. According to the documents, the authorization led to the July 8, 2003, conversation between Libby and New York Times reporter Judith Miller.

There was no indication in the filing that either Bush or Cheney authorized Libby to disclose Plame's CIA identity.

A synopsis- President Bush declassified information .
Don't expect Matthews or UberOlberMoonbat or the rest of the bats at NBC to understand that concept.

This is totally bogus MSM deceit.

Most MSM journalistss consider what they do very ethical and objective -- therefore they must be practicing denial in order to be blind to their own demonstrably relentless bias.

Here's the behavioral psychology of it: If MSM organ issues, through sloppiness, a headline or first paragraph that artifically bolsters the Vietnam or Watergate narrative, they get mucho jollies. Their colleagues and the Moveon.org groupies cheer. Issuing a correction (usually not needed) is a mosquito bite. So the sloppy behavior is reinforced.

President Bush declassified information.

But disclosing information to a journalist under the guise of a leak creates an appearance of impropriety.

That is why MSNBC ratings are in the toilet, in fact way down in the sewer.

Why do you bother and watch this channel and get aggravated with their constant lies?

From page 27 of the filing (Sept, 2003 timeframe):

During this time, while the President was unaware of the role that the Vice President’s Chief of Staff and National Security Adviser had in fact played in disclosing Ms. Wilson’s CIA employment, defendant implored White House officials to have a public statement issued exonerating him. When his initial efforts met with no success, defendant sought the assistance of the Vice President in having his name cleared.

Who exactly are the 'folks in Libbyland?'

Libby has already been vindicated by Bob Woodward, besides the fact that there wasn't any need for vindication in the first place since there never was a 'leak' of a covert CIA agent. He doesn't need to accuse the President to be exonerated.

The MSM will be caught in yet another lie, and this story will die away for the 20th time because there is absolutely no there there....

I disagree. I don't think MSM 'journalists' care about ethics at all. They just create their own 'facts' put them on the front page, and then when the truth is revealed retract them deep inside the paper.

It happens too often for anyone to believe that they imagine themselves 'ethical and objective.'

But the average American has caught on, and knows the MSM cannot be trusted, which is why their readership and viewership is in the tank.

On top of being liars, they're stupid, because they won't do what they need to do to get back their audience/readers............just tell the truth.

A liberal will ask "is declassifying the same as leaking"? It will be argued that if information is leaked, it isn't necessarily declassified.

Know your facts before you post your stupid crap. If the President couldn't authorize disclosure of intelligence info, who's the one that can? Congress discloses all the time but they're not supposed to.
