I understand and agree with your point that forcible deportation of 11-20 million legals is not going to happen. But I don't think you've really addressed some of the other ideas that people have brought up that would create some "self-deportation".

Last night the former head of immigration, Kris Kobach, under Ashcroft stated if employers were forced to verify each employer, and there was a fine for hiring illegals they would go home.

Alberto Gonzales needs to go.

Having him as AG is the equivalent of appointing David Berkowitz to head up the NY Dept. Of Corrections.

Well, they are supposed to verify each illegal already. The real rub is that civil enforcement is very rare. To me, the key is making it strict liability for employers rather than only holding them liable if they "knowingly" hire illegals. Treble fines for employers who were negligent, and criminal liability for those who did it knowingly.
