This isn't like a marriage where the husband and wife have agreed to live with each other and have made a commitment to each other and their children.

Never had to compromise with your wife? Lucky man.... Of course, at least you get to choose your wife, so the odds on her agreeing with you when it comes to disciplining the kids are pretty good. You and I didn't exactly choose Harry Reid as a legislative dance partner, did we?

This is the sovereignty of a country, with laws to control its borders and processes in place to allow immigrants to legally enter.

That sounds wonderful, but you omitted the part about most Democrats and some Republicans opposing your view. What good does it do for you to have the perfect plan if you can't get it enacted?

Do you bicker with the police officer who pulls you over when you've run a red light, because your personal view is that there shouldn't be signals? Perhaps your personal view is there should be no police officers. Do you think that will get you far in your bickering/compromise with law enforcement? How about the judge who sentences someone found convicted of breaking an existing law....does the defendant's personal view that the law is wrong, or demands for compromise, change the fact that the law exists and is there for the exact reason the defendant was arrested?

Making news laws that won't be enforced is ridiculous. So is this charade, No Illegal Left Behind Act, that's going on in the Senate.
