Steve Camarota of the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Immigration Studies estimates that illegal immigrants cost the federal government $10 billion a year. State and local governments lose even more. Illegals also make up over 1/4 of Federal Prisoners in the US.
And of course that little War on Terror thing going on. The US doesn't want/need a guestworker program of any kind.

According to Senator Kyl, there are approximately 120-thousand in Arizona's detention facilities alone.
They can't be deported. Mexico don't want 'em.
