As with your example of Specter, "sometimes a people get the leaders they deserve."

Pennsylvania got what they deserve, and obviously, most Ohioans wanted Dewine at the time. Maybe they will choose a democrat this time and teach the GOP a lesson.

Then a Democrat will have 6yrs to lure more people over to the promise of socialist pandering.

You seem to think the "dirty work" is sneaking a good conservative into office instead of RINO's and Democrats. It's not. A real conservative winning an election is a result of the real dirty work of keeping the majority of the public supportive of conservative principles.

When the TABC started raiding Texas bars for 'potential' DWIs, Texans went "up in arms" and the TABC/Legislature backed down.

When 'the people' stop fighting those little dirty work fights here and there, then the leaders will follow.

I appreciate your motivation, but I think you're painting a termite infested house!

If Dewine got in, and the populace has no pull to merely bend him to their overwhelming desire to solve the border problem in the fashion you desire, then you're finding yourself in a minority that is not convincing other people.

You believe that if you jolt the public with a Rat for 6 years, then the GOP will be eager to get you and other real conservatives on board next time. I think the spineless GOP will be even more spineless after losing people of your determination, and thus will tend to pander and wander even further from conservative principles. You and I can politely disagree on this since only time will tell.

Recent history backs up this assertion. It's not that we want expect to "jolt the public" with a democrat - the idea is to show Republicans that they have to actually govern as conservatives to get elected.

If Democrat-Lite Republicans in conservative states start getting knocked off then the rest of them will learn their lesson.

The policy you advocate is akin to a wife not upsetting her abusive husband for fear that he will get even more abusive.

I never siad a damn thing about sneaking a conservative into office. I flat out told you that my intention is to drive out the deadwood RINO and ultimately replace him with a conservative. Since the state parties seem to think that they have a right to prop up RINO scum it should come as no surprise to them if there's a revolt.

As for finding myself in the monority on the contrary, Ohioans have polled consistently conservative on the matter of illegl aliens. If DeWine chooses to ingnore the wishes of that large a part of the populace he deserves to be thrown out of office.

On the other hand if I'm in such a monority DeWine doesn't have anything to worry about no does he?

Based on his recent flip flop on gay marriage he is very worried indeed.
