What does "outlay" mean to you, Johnnie?
Look in the link given in a previous post. Where is a spending "cut"? Not as a percentage of GDP but a spending cut. Point it out and I'll retract.

So to look at the over all budget and scream about Spending is a very simplistic analysis. It's easy grandstanding Talk Radio spin. How much of that Spending is non descresicary Entitlement Spending? How much is Defense? How much is Homeland Security? Border Security? Talking about "Federal Spending" and sighting the most grotesque misspending and then implying that that all the Talk Radio Heads assumptions about Fed Spending are prov en by the parts sited is a logical fallacy. The real world doesn't work the way some Talk Radioheads wish it would. Should Bush tape the veto pen to his hand for the next 2.5 years? YES. Will that solve the problem? NO. Not until people accept that something they LIKE has to be cut, NOT just "those other guys spending"
The fact of the matter is we are a Constitutional Republic, NOT a Presidential Dictatorship. You have to build consensus to get anything done and the Political Consensus for the slash and burn the Talk Radio Heads scream for on the Fed Budget simply is not there. I suspect however the 100%ers will not wake up to reality until they actually lose us control of the Govt again. It's so much easier to scream slogans and pound our chests then actually get things done.
