This is very similar in circumstance to the immigration potest marches. The youth are in the streets but they have no clue why other than it's "fun" or "different".

You'll love this pic of a student encountering a friendly youth...

And this is from the actual caption...

A masked youth tries to steal a camera at the end of a protest demanding the government scrap the First Job Contract (CPE) in Paris April 4, 2006.

Clearly this is a quagmire, a battle not worth fighting, and certainly not something that can be won. It appears that France is now entering into a civil war.

Time to pull out. Time for France to surrender.

Here a French student on the ground discovers the fun of multiculturalism, while "youth" beat the crap out of him and steal his stuff...

Applying for a job, perhaps?

A youth breaks the window of an employment agency at the end of a demonstration against a French youth jobs plan which gathered around 30,000 people in the northern French town of Lille. Gangs of youths clashed with riot police who responded with tear gas as violence erupted in Paris and other French cities after more than a million people protested against an unpopular youth jobs plan.(AFP/Philippe Huguen)

Here, a student is about to be introduced to some nice youth, who will demonstrate multicultural sensitivity and mutual respect...

As experts in the art of surrender, I'm confident the French will have a plan.

What is just not clear to me is how they could have put forth this so-called "plan", without thinking through the contingencies. They clearly had no plan to "win the peace". Chirac should be impeached or, failing that, censured. Russ Feingold may have some draft language laying around, and John Kerry can help translate it into French.
