Krikorian believes members of Congress are promising tougher enforcement, but "they have no intention of enforcing the immigration laws, period."

No, and here's the thing: If they make the current 20 million legal they will be falling over themselves to make the following 20 million legal 5 years from now so that the first 20 million keeps voting for the party who is trying hardest to give amnesty to the next 20 million.

And of course that premise is based on the current political thinking that the citizens of Latino heritage want all the Latino illegal aliens to become citizens.

Whether that premise is right or wrong is irrelevant, the two parties believe that is what Latinos want so that will determine future policy.

It's totally irrelevant which party tries hardest to give amnesty to illegal immigrants; they will still vote Democrat for the simple reason that they are socialists.
