One thing puzzles me a bit: local news reports say Rt 9 is blocked from Rt 1 all the way up to South Little Creek Road. If the crash site is where we assume it is, why block off the road so far north - why not at Postles Corner (Pickering Beach Rd)?
Debris from the a/c up there?

The only reason I can figure is that South Little Creek is the nearest road into town. I'm sure residents are being given access to Rte 9.

If they were dumping fuel, is it possible that that area is where the fuel was dumped. Just a guess.
