For the most part, Bush has been Bush for the last five years and three months. Bush and Cheney both have total disdain for the media and who could blame them. Problem is, when your POTUS and VPOTUS, you've got to be smart and hide your contempt from the public. Bush and Cheney have done a lousy job of communicating their message to the people. Especially in the last year. Independents have moved away from supporting Bush and the GOP. That must be turned around before the election season ratchets up into full swing. Bush should also tell Scott McClellen and Dan Barlett to take a hike.
With Josh Bolten coming in as the new Chief of Staff, he might be able to get Bush out of the hole he's dug for himself with many Americans and with mainstream conservatives. The recent PR blitz needs to be kept up. And the bureaucratic blunders have to stop, or else the Prez is doomed to lame duck status.
No, I think the problem there is a problem of "middle management"; not from the top. Mehlman's good at communicating. And I think he's doing that part of communicating and I'm seeing better results. The problem lies more at the local levels, IMHE.
LOVE that you think the NYTimes is right, RMan, and that you have the audacity to put your agreement with the looney left in print.
Reveals who you really are.
well, if it isn't the King of Backhanded Compliments.
You are worse than a Bush basher; you're a poser who bashes Bush.
I almost feel sorry for McClellan, but he is way too meek for that job. Ari was working for the W.H. at a much "easier" time, but boy was he smooth with the media!
