But I was referring to the fact that GOP Presidential candidates used to be able to take California for granted. Now they can take it as a given that they will lose in California. And the main reason is the seismic political shift that occurred there in the last 14 years.

Sure -- but the question is whether that's a result of Prop 187 and illegal immigration, or something else.

Well, I'm from Texas. We have the same problems that other border states do. And we have a large and growing Hispanic population. But we are now as solidly GOP as California is Rat-infested. That's because Hispanics here vote GOP in increasing numbers. It's happening here and in many other states, but not in California. So why isn't it happening in California?
