If California can't grow strawberries without the use of Mexican labor, then let California stop growing stawberries.

We've NEVER enforced employer sanctions. That's NOT the same as concluding they don't work. You can't say that if you've never seriously tried to enforce the law. DiFi would be right only if we did enforce employer sanctions AND employers still hired illegal aliens. So there's a huge difference here.

I'd like to know when this was ever tried. I've never heard of any employer prosecuted for hiring illegals ... how about you all ?

I have a counter proposal for her. Keep the guest worker program, but she has to accept shuting the border off and closing the loopholes for anchor families and timed births on US soil. In addition we need to make up for other groups who tried to come to the US legally and are still waiting in line because the Mexicans/Central Americans cut in front of the line. I would add a moratorium on new immigrants from that region for 20 years. That would be my price if the Senate want guest workers.

The logic of this mess is simple: (1) our politicians have turned a blind eye while the country was invaded by 11,000,000 illegal aliens; (2) now they say that number is too large to do anything about; and (3) that the only "solution" is to sign them up as citizens.

and this coming from a Senator that supports outsourcing Senate seats to China or the highest bidder.

“What has been shown is that employer sanctions don't work,”

What sanctions?

"I don't think it makes any sense," Feinstein said.

"Thinks????" The stupid bwitch "thinks" it doesn't make any sense? The reason she has to "think" about it is because it's NEVER been tried, so there is NO WAY she or any other congress critter could possibly have any REAL evidence to substantiate her ridiculous statement. I loathe career politicians. The longer they've been in office, the more more worthless they are.

McCain and Kennedy are the principal sponsors of the controversial legislation, which is expected to come up for a Senate vote late next week.

The bill would provide a path to citizenship for nearly all the illegal immigrants in the country if they pay a fine and back taxes, take English classes and pass a criminal background check.

Once those 11(?) million illegals obtain citizenship, their families can instantly travel to the United States and obtain legal citizenship also. You do the numbers---we will DROWN in taxation.

McCain is a traitor. Down with the Senate proposals!! Until a better one can be written, go with the only viable bill, the one already passed with bipartisan support in the House: HR 4437.

Of course they don't work if you don't enforce them. When have these laws ever been enforced? Not since RR signed that stupid amnesty bill in 1986 has the employer part of the bill been enforced. DiFi is just another idiot and I am sorry to day she is my Senator, her and Barbara Boxer, what a pair of moon bats to have representing a person!

This is the same Senator who is against the Second Amendment, yet refuses to give up her conceal-carry permit in the city of San Francisco.

Her credibility is zero.
