Capitol Hill police are expected to seek an arrest warrant next week for Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, who was involved in a physical confrontation with a Capitol police officer Wednesday, police and legal authorities said Thursday.
Officially, the investigation of the incident, in which the DeKalb County Democrat allegedly struck a police officer who tried to stop her from going around a security checkpoint, is ongoing, said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokeswoman for Capitol Hill police.
However, police have notified the federal prosecutor's office in Washington that they will be seeking an arrest warrant after the investigation is complete next week, said police and legal authorities, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because the investigation was not yet complete.
McKinney ignored a reporter's questions Thursday as she walked into the Capitol, before word of the planned arrest warrant. She could not be reached for comment later Thursday. . . .

house.gov: Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney(D)(GA)Gore's 'Negro Tolerance Level' has never been high
I wonder if Nancy thinks it's "understandable" that a woman who thinks she should be recognized but isn't would hit an officer of the law?
Thanks for the info, maggief!
That such a character as McKinney is in the House of Reps is scary. There have always been thieves and scalawags and others of questionable character, but McKinney is something else again. Either through willful ignorance, or an inflated sense of victimhood, or some deep-rooted problem, she hates this country, certain other ethnic groups (The Jooooooos!) and will do things to endanger and harm us. Thought we had gotten rid of her in the 2002 election, but like a vampire she came back!
Exactly. And she fits the bill.
There was a story on some cable show last night about her hitting another Hill staffer, a guy who worked on a committee; he tried to block her way into a meeting that was for members only -- she was trying to bring two other people and two children into a CLOSED DOOR meeting; she struck him, too.
I started a thread:

McKinney Plans News Conference (Friday at 11 a.m.)
This is the only kind of attention she gets. I'm black and in congress I have aa big dumb mouth.
Race card time...
She should be joining LaRaza and CAIR any minute now....
Ol' Sparky has a wiring problem or something as I recall (he he he). We Alabamians can muster up "Yellow Mama" if needed.
No, you wouldn't, would you?
Assault on a LEO? No big deal.
Contempt for the law? No big deal.
Lack of respect and support for the people protecting your arrogant bleeps? No big deal.
Your attitude says it all, Nancy. And it speaks volumes.
Additionally, there are 435 members of the House of Representatives. There are changes every two years. How long, typically, is a Capitol Hill policeman on the job before he can recognize each and every one of them (granted there are few black women in this group)? Finally it's another example of the sense of entitlement these 'people' feel - but they're not royalty, they're elected representatives! As such they are not exempt from many of the little things us regular people have to deal with, like security checkpoints.
Assault with her cell phone!
Is there video of that one or is the allegation from a good source? Hoping there's video.
I think she's already a member of CIAR. In 2001, after Guiliani tunred down a Saudi prince's money for NYC relief efforts, because he made statements attached to the money that maybe our foreign policy was to blame for the attacks, McKinney openly pandered for that money. It was shameless, disgusting, and beneath an ordinary citizen much less someone in a leadership postion.
I don't give a rat's hairy hind end if Critters are recognized or not. They should still have to go through security, darn it.
I am pretty sure it was on Brit Hume's show. I'll see if I can find the name. He's a lawyer in NY now.
Hilliary got away with running into one.--mewzilla
The answer, I believe, resides more in liberty loss than in power gain.Simply put, she is not running for office; she is running from indictment.
And I fear Starr successor, Robert Ray, is unable to catch her...
Or catch on. (On second thought, maybe the problem is that he does....)Ray's recent statement , " I have been charged with responsibly conducting the work of this office. Some of my responsibility is to ensure that there is no untoward effect on the political process," both confirms and encourages this latest round of clinton raping, pillaging, despoiling, destroying.
Will this nightmare never end?

Clinton [!] OK After Airport Incident
News 12, 10/14/01YONKERS - A bizarre accident at Westchester County Airport involved Senator Hillary Clinton's entourage Sunday.
Sources tell News 12 Westchester that a vehicle in Senator Clinton's security team tried to bypass a mandatory check point at the airport, which has been under a heightened state of alert since the terrorist attacks. A county police officer attempting to stop the vehicle from getting through injured his shoulder. That officer was taken to Saint Agnes Hospital in White Plains, and his condition is not known.
Senator Clinton, who turned 54 Sunday, was en route to board a jet to an unreleased destination. The former first lady could not be reached for comment.
- Pushy Dame
Online Prowler--The American Spectator
- Sen. Hillary Clinton is losing fans by the day on Capitol Hill due to
- her performance at last Tuesday's Bush address to Congress.
- According to congressional reporters, Senator Clinton pushed fragile
- Republican Strom Thurmond out of the way in order to get to the NBC New
- York affiliate's camera crew. "Thurmond stumbled and nearly fell down,
- but Sen. Ted Kennedy grabbed hold of him," says one of the reporter
- witnesses.
- Clinton has also further angered her own leadership. Her staff
- presented Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle with a request that he
- approve two additional positions for her office at salaries of $85,000
- or more. "She wants to hire a permanent staff pollster and media
- adviser," says a source in the minority leader's office. "She explained
- that they would be available to all of her Democratic colleagues, but
- they would work out of her offices."
- The so-called "office expenses" indicate how naive Clinton is about
- real-world politics. It would be next to impossible to hire a pollster
- at a salary of $85,000, let alone cover the costs of polling out of a
- Senate office. "She's thinking like a first lady, and not a freshman
- senator," says the Daschle aide. "But no one has the nerve to tell her
- where to get off."

AN OPEN LETTER TO TIM ROBBINS, DAVID GEFFEN, CHRIS MATTHEWS, MAUREEN DOWD + JEANINE PIRRORE: a not-so-modest proposal concerning hillary clinton
Dear Concerned Americans,Hillary Clinton's revisionist tome notwithstanding, 'living history' begets a certain symmetry. It is in that light that I make this not-so-modest proposal on this day, exactly 64 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The context of our concern today--regardless of political affiliation--is Iraq and The War on Terror, but the larger fear is that our democracy may not survive.
We have the requisite machines, power and know-how to defeat the enemy in Iraq and elsewhere, but do we have the will?
In particular, do we have the will to identify and defeat the enemy in our midst?
Answerable to no one, heir apparent in her own mind, self-serving in the extreme, Hillary Clinton incarnates this insidious new threat to our survival.
What we decide to do about Missus Clinton will tell us much about what awaits us in these perilous new times.
