Well, Iran made it clear they were going to do military exercises in the area soon. Guess some units got a head start on others.

Just displaying your total ignorance of ANYTHING Middle Eastern yet again huh Tread? Guaranteed the Iranian military HAD NOTHING to do with this. If you could look at a map, you would see that there are AMERICAN military installations ALL OVER THE AREA near Bahrain.

From AFP: The boat capsized at about 9:45 pm local time (1845 GMT) near the Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman bridge, one of three linking the capital Manama with the smaller Al-Muharraq island, Bahrain's Coast Guard chief Colonel Yussef al-Ghatim told AFP.

Ignorance is the second most powerful elemental force [only the idiocy is stronger], vastly exceeding in power everything else normally encountered. Thus by all means is it to be harnessed to promote the national interest and to defend the Constitution.

It's hard to imagine an intelligent person making such a remark.

The last one was in the middle of the Red Sea (Between Saudi and Egypt). This one was in coastal waters off Bahrain in the Persian Gulf (between Saudi and Iran). So they were not really close together at all.

Egyptian Ship Sinks At Sea
Updated: 23:31, Friday February 03, 2006

Rescue teams have found 185 dead and 314 survivors after an Egyptian ferry carrying more than 1,400 passengers sank in the Red Sea.

A massive air and sea rescue operation is underway where the ship disappeared.

Four Egyptian frigates are at the scene and boats have taken the survivors to the Egyptian port of Safaga.

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said: "Our hearts go out to all those who we think have suffered so badly in this tragedy."

The rescue operation is being hampered by bad weather and there are reports of an electrical storm in the Red Sea overnight.
