She likes her name, the only others she knows with it are Jamaican. That name traces into the history of Haile Selassie, Rastafarians and Ethiopia.

I found that Bilqis is a Muslim name. The Nikaule or Nicaula names are pretty, I wonder what their origin is. I wonder if that is where the name Nicole comes from.

It's possible that "Nikaule" is a variant from "Nicholas," which is of Greek origin. Lots of linguistic transmission in those days, and there were many Christian communities in Africa and Arabia.

Bilqis is popular with Hispanics spelled as Belkys. I've also seen it as Anabelkys. IIRC, it's the name attributed to the legendary Queen of Sheba.
