Black Americans aren't the only ones. I remember an earlier article abouts kids named after products. Meridian sticks in
my mind as being among the more acceptable. Only four syllables too.

However, I recall a some march on CSPAN that ended with some would-be rapper calling himself "Prime Meridian".

Yeah, I always just thought the Africanized names were pretentious when the person was obviously born in this country. There are plenty of pretentious Euro-ized white names, too.

I just thank gawd my parents didn't name me "Rudiger Bartholemew Thurston III" (as if there was a "I" or a "II"...)

Once on Howard Stern, he said he met a guy named Nosmo King. Said his mother saw it at the hospital. Never really knew if he was joking or not.
