Students from San Bernardino area schools, including Rialto and Colton, fill West E Street near Pennsylvania Ave. Tuesday as they make their way towards downtown San Bernardino.

A motorist with an American flag drives by protesters waving Mexico flags at Farmer's Corner on San Jacinto Avenue.

Riverside County Sheriff deputies in riot gear lock down Perris High School as parents and family members wait to pick up their kids Tuesday after a fight during a walkout to protest an immigration bill.

Clark Fuller, 26, of Riverside, holds up a U.S. flag at student protesters from Norte Vista High School as they march along Magnolia Avenue Tuesday in Riverside, Calif.

Whose server is that on? Can it handle the traffic if it's mailed around?

Thanks for the link, Karl. For some reason I can't get it to play right now. Maybe the server is busy.

I really appreciate your summary of how we arrived at the present crisis via legislation, policies and PR.

If I may add a footnote to the history lesson. Dan Lungren was CA Atty General in Wilson's administration, and Dan was the one who actually played the heavy in getting 187 enforced. IIRC, when the Latino/liberal outcry followed the passage of 187, Lungren announced he was not deterred from enforcement.

Of course, the whole thing quickly became suspended in limbo as the court case proceeded and eventually died due to judicial defeat of the will of the people.

The agenda-driven segments of our society have figured out all the tricks, all the ways of circumventing what the people want and what is right and good for America.

One more little thing: Lungren is now a Congressional Representative for a district in or around Sacramento, CA, but I am not aware of what kind of rep he is as I never hear a peep out of him.

I agree. Implementation must be ASAP. 2 years is asinine. No doubt Sensenbrenner wanted a shorter time frame originally, but traded off to get votes for the bill.

In my dream world, we would at least be able to round up the men who stand around on corners, in front of convenience stores or other stores, get them checked out and deported if necessary. What happened to loitering laws?

From what I have read about HR 4437 it is the bill to support. I would like to tweak it as I suggested but it has potential. The other three are amnesty bills, I don't care what the Beltway whores call it.

I think that nothing more will happen now except the passing of one of those amnesties. But I have a feeling there will be some serious unrest this summer and that could wake up enough people to do something worthwhile.

In the Senate debate today, Sen. Jeff Sessions called the Kennedy-McCain bill an amnesty. Straight out. I didn't watch the debate, but according to the discussion on another thread here, Sessions ripped in to several provisions in the bill, declared it worthless and said he could not support it.

In other news, House Speaker Hastert said he could support some form of guest worker program.

These damn politicians say all kinds of things, leaning one way one day, the other the next. Sessions is one of a VERY FEW who is consistent.

Hastert had his arm twisted apparently. He's going to hear from me tomorrow.

Thank you for those insights. Good for Sessions. I will remember that.

" I'm merely concluding that they're not going to be sent home."

Well, with that attitude, they won't be. Maybe if you instead got involved with protesting against the Globalist Corporations and Corrupt Politicians who want to destroy our future, they would be sent home. Maybe if you got involved with a third party, like the Constitution Party, they would be.

You would literally have to spend trillions of dollars to "assimilate them".

I know what they want and I know how to add. It comes from direct experience confronting them at protests. It comes from using the gray matter between my ears. Do the same thing and you will get the same conclusion. They want a $500,000 house and $50,000 SUV. Paid for by us. The McCain Kennedy amnesty will give us 30 million people who want this. Now why don't you add it up.

As for the 5 trillion $$$$$ amnesty, it comes from CIS, FAIR, PPIC, and Pew Hispanic data. Currently illegal aliens cost Americans $200 billion a year in lower wages and higher taxes. The McCain/Kennedy amnesty will raise this to $500 billion a year. Over 10 years, that is a $5 trillion cost to Americans. After 10 years, America as we know it will cease to exist. Either Americans will have surrendered to the WTO, or Civil War II will have destroyed a good part of the country. Which option do you prefer?

By allowing for Third World immigration, the 1965 immigration act created cover for illegal immigrants.

I misunderstood your position on Prop 187.

[" I'm merely concluding that they're not going to be sent home."] Well, with that attitude, they won't be.

I was an idealist when we went through this discussion in the 80's. I learned that politicians don't keep promises, and this time they're not even promising anything.

I also learned not to waste my time on a project that is guaranteed to fail, and instead spend my time on something that might be productive, even if not "perfect".

Maybe if you instead got involved with protesting against the Globalist Corporations and Corrupt Politicians

That's genuine DU talk. Did you wear one of those funny costumes while protesting the World Bank in Seattle?

We've only got the highest standard of living ever known by a living creature, and all you can do about it is bitch.

You would literally have to spend trillions of dollars to "assimilate them".

And again, where did you pull that number from?

They want a $500,000 house and $50,000 SUV. Paid for by us.

And I want a trip to the moon. But it ain't happening.

Currently illegal aliens cost Americans $200 billion a year in lower wages and higher taxes.

So if we're spending all that money, then how come we've got the highest standard of living, ever?

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics. And your $200 bil number is one of those three.

It's way too easy to add up the taxes paid, and bennifits used and conclude that these people are "costing" us X dollars. But that's BS. By working for less, they cost all of us less to buy groceries, stay in hotels, and eat in resturants. Their work changes our standard of living directly, every day, even if you never see an illegal face to face.

There's one way to determine the status of a business and of an economy, and that's the "bottom line". The bottom line is we're living better than any nation ever has. Period. Deal with it.

Thats the biggest load of dung heap I have ever heard.

I say YES, we arrest any and all illegals, and their spawn and ship them to the border.

The border should be fenced, mined, peppered with machine gun nests and the Army deployed along it with orders to kill anyone attempting unauthorized entry.

All employers need to submit a list of employees with SSN's to a dedicated task-force that weeds out the illegals from the lists, and then goes to that place of business and arrests those employees, and deports them immediately.

I don't care what happens to the economy and I don't care about paying 5 bucks for a head of lettuce.

I don't care what happens to the economy and I don't care about paying 5 bucks for a head of lettuce.

You also don't care that the communist Democrats will hold power for the next 40 years because a handful of Republicans can't hold their emotions in check and engage their brains.

Vincente Fox in Mexico is facing a hard election vs. a genuine communist, and may loose. He's betting he can work out a deal with Bush on the border issue and it will help his party win.

So if we get stubborn, a real communist will be in power in Mexico. We get something like 60% of our oil from Mexico and Venenzuela (where a communist also just got elected).

By alienating hispanics here in this country, the Dems will take over and the entire hemisphere will be communist.

You ready to settle down yet and engage your brain on this issue? This has to be handled right, or we've got a rough ride ahead, and 10 million illegals in this country and 5 dollar lettuce are the least of our worries.

RE Post #186

The official national symbol of MEChA is an eagle holding a stick of dynamite in one claw, with a lighted fuse in its beak, and a macahuittle in the other claw.

This is a symbol of violence and anarchy. It is a symbol of anarchistic action and a call to propaganda.

Another icon, that is emerging as a symbol of anarchistic action and a call to propaganda, is the Mexican flag.

That's my opinion, what's yours?
