What I get from this essay above is that there was no plagiarism, but there was a rush to judgment against him. And, though he believes the Wapo believes his explanations above on these matters, it was in fact at the newspape's insistence that his blog there be discontinued. So, in essence, he was fired, because the Wapo would not publicly support him, though he claims they did, privately. Again, that's my take.

And, as the blog he co-founded -- redstate.com -- that will continue, will him on board, as the people there still want him, and they will continue to publicly support him.

It becomes a matter of who you believe. Sorry Ben, I don't believe you. You plagerized numerous times, you got caught, and now you need to go.

To my friends: thank you for your support. To my enemies: I take enormous solace in the fact that you spent this week bashing me, instead of America.

So, no matter what you may believe or get from all this -- a right to due process and free speech is still important! Because the Wapo statement didn't really get into any of what Ben said, above. In fact, from what they said, you would have never guessed there was any explanation coming from this blogger.

Never heard of him. Read something earlier on FR about this. Buh-bye! BTW, The Washingtoncompost sucks; you are better off out of there, pal.
To: summer
It's no substitute for being with the Washington Post.
The liberals always seem to get their man.
There needs to be pressure on the Post to find another conservative blogger.

Why even try with this POS Liberal outlet? It wasn't going to work no matter who it is because the Libs have the MSM by the balls.

Having run the same liberal gauntlet myself (to a lesser extent, granted), I'm sympathetic.
To Ben: Get back at them. Write a book. I'll bet Regnery would publish it...

Whoever they hire will be trashed, I wouldn't want the job.
