While watching the news shows last night I came across Rita Crobsy on MSNBC. She was interviewing a neighbor of the Winkler's who described Matthew Winkler as a very confrontational and aggressive person. This neighbor said (and I am paraphrasing) that her children came in one day and said that Winkler had threatened to shoot their dog. She told her children they must have been mistaken about what he had said and went to his house to ask him about it. He replied that yes, he had told her kids he would shoot their dog and went on to say something about him having young children and didn't want the dog coming over in his yard.

At times it was hard to understand this neighbor because she was calling from a cell phone, but I got the distinct impression that she did not like Matthew Winkler. So far, this is the only person I have heard that has anything less than positive to say about Matthew Winkler.

Yeah, that was Sharyn Everitt (correct spelling of Sharyn). She (and her husband and children) live at 141 and the Winklers lived at 174. She is also the one who said, "Christians don't kill each other."

And she is the one who saw Mary "storming down the street" on that Wednesday. (Wish we knew what time--I wanted to put this in the timeline, but can't yet.)

" ... Sharon Everitt last saw Mary Winkler "storming down the street" from their home earlier on the day her husband's body was discovered.

That was unusual because neither of the Winklers would speed on the street, Sharon Everitt said. ..."

If I had a gun, I would shoot every dog that comes uninvited into my yard too, since a pack of them killed my cat while she was in her own yard. That doesn't imply I'm abusive to humans or evil. So-called pets have been known to kill or maim children! Maybe he told the kids next door to get their dog out of his yard, and they ignored him, so he raised the level of his threat to make them listen. We don't always choose our words wisely when we are afraid that something will harm our children.

The lady with the dog was busy yesterday. She was also on CNN. I got the impression she didn't like Matthew Winkler too much.
