I bought a Halley's Bible Hand Book about 30 years ago and recently purchased a more recent addition.
It's a great book and a fast read for 894 pages of jam packed information about the archeology of the area and what was happening at that specific time.
Has some great explanations also.
When I traveled to work in one of those countries where the religion of piece dominates, my bible was confiscated but not the Halley's book.
I found it to be of great solace.
Great. Will look for the new ed. Gave my old one away in China, as I recall.
