Look at all the posts on this thread: nobody here WANTS Sen. McCain to get the nomination; at best, he gets the "lesser of two evils" label.
We're the ones who actively campaign for candidates and give $$ to candidates; we're also the ones who actually bother to vote in primaries.
My guess is not only does he not get the nomination in '08, he doesn't get re-elected in '10, either.

Quite true, but look at the last election. They didn't want Kerry. Kerry got the Dim nomination because Mr. Grassroots imploded in the middle of the primary. Don't think the same misfortune couldn't happen to us.
