If the 1st Amendment is not legally binding on Congress - I guess the 16th Amendment is only a voluntary option for American citizens also -
I base this on the 14th Amendment - Or is that a "living document too?"
I imagine we shall have to have Justice Ginsberg and Justice Souter give us an opinion based on Cambodian law.
Scary isn't it, especially when you see polls where he's leading for the Presidential nomination.
I once thought John McCain to be the great hope for the Republican Party - his campaign finance laws turned me off from the get-go.
(Suspiciously, I recall, contributions from Native American lobbies, where he gets a disproportionate level of support, were exempted from the bill he proposed...though I don't remember much more detail...)
Some folks seem to think that the Constitution
and it's amendments were only suggestions.
I bet they look at the Ten Commandments in the
same way.
