Tim Russert forgets what the estimates for deaths were for the initial invasion...He said he could not find one person who expected we would have had 2000 lost..I think he is not being truthful. He went into a list that was pure spin..a pick and choose who said or thought what before the war...without identifying who said it. He has lost any semblance of objectivity.
NBC gets me for local news in the morning many times..The only time I watch their reporting otherwise is because the channel hasn't been changed yet..A pox on them..I am going to watch Fox local channel news.

General Electric should be kicked off every government bid list.
Russert's "observation" about troop losses is a typical irrelevant lib observation. Like the so-called esteem we are supposedly losing around the world because of the war. What if some "experts" before WWII had underestimated the amount of troop deaths we experienced (three to four hundred thousand) during the war? Would that have made the war any less worth fighting for? It's a stupid observation on Russert's part.
The key question is should we be fighting the war or not...not the number of troop losses experts predicted. In almost the same amount of time as it took to win WWII, we've lost over two thousand soldiers...about one hundredth of we lost during WWII. As a strong supporter of our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, I can truly say that no one on this forum wants to see dead American troops. But the question is will preventive efforts now forestall bigger tragedies down the road i.e. pay me now, or pay me a lot more later. My answer is yes.
Tim Russert in a dishonest man who unfortunately has the reverse reputation. He is a sublte spinner clearly wihtin the Democratic party camp. Every doubt is blown the left's way; the way he assembles issues and questions are sublte yet clear acceptances of the left's premises. Within that orbit, one can appear objective by asking questions straightforwardly and seemingly evenhandedly; but the game has been stacked from the beginning by the selection of the framework.
Can't stand Tim.
Long ago, he'd sometimes make a half-hearted attempt at being non-partisan, but that flew out the window in the year 2000.
