I hardly think the entire economy rides on the backs of illegal laborers; all the walnuts in California's San Jouquin Valley were once harvested by hand, then a manual limb shaker was invented and the workers needed dropped by half, now they use a big machine that shakes the whole tree and the workers have been cut in half again.
