There is NOTHING on NPR that could possibly balance Daniel Schorr.Yeah, any normal person is creeped out by Schorr. I remember when he got that way. He was sure the Nixon administration was out to get him. Snubbed him for a WhiteHouse party or something. Anyway, the man displayed certifiable paranoia and his only natural home after that was thus the friendly havens of NPR.
Actually, what got Schorr, and I know this because he's told the story on NPR many times (it made him a legend in his own mind) is that there was a bunch of reporters and journalists that were hostile to the Nixon Administration, so someone made a list which became knows as Nixon's Enemies List. Somehow the list was leaked to the press, and Daniel was reading the list of names live on air, when he read his own name on the list. I guess he takes great pride to be included on Nixon's enemies list.
Here is a wikipedia article about it that makes for interesting reading. The list of entertainment 'enemies' hasn't changed much in 30 years.
