Possible, if it was just the two of them. It's the scenarios speculating about a larger group, perhaps in some occult ritual, that make me skeptical. It could have happened, nobody doubts that, but the more people present, and the more unusual the activity, the higher the odds that someone would blow the secret, and quickly.

The contingent was not large, also sort of all sworn by blood oath, I suspect. In their minds, they could have felt like kindred. I hope one of them does blow the cover if that is the case, especially if money is to be made in the deal.
