Right.
Yep, pretty much.

Thanks. Good stuff.
We are not so blessed. The greatest of our strengths have much in common with Israel, but the whole package of strengths and weakness are different in many, and very significant ways. We are a hetereogeneous culture, we have institutionalized numbness and sloth such as the unions and government bureaus (as I understand, Israel has an instititionalized craziness that is more kafka-esque, more neurotic than numb, and zealot-like rather than slothful in following arcane rules).
Whereas Israel would be highly resisitant to inflitrations we are wide open at -- well -- every level.
We have some security of a sort because of the natural wariness to strangers and unfamiliar behaviors in the workplace of longshoremen, but that is as far as it goes. And over time even those union halls will be infiltrated.
I have come to oppose this deal more and more as I consider American vulnerabilities versus Israeli ones.
DPW may be fine for Israel, but not for America.
The polls in Israel may very well be wrong, but if Kadima is elected then it will be a very bad time for Israel and ultimately for the U.S., also.
