Whatever dude. At least I am concerned about the stability of our bases there. I doubt Mrs Sheehan gives a big flip about the importance of strong military and commercial relationship with the UAE. I am sure at Camp Casey Mrs Sheehan is worried about intelligence sharing between the UAE and our intelligence agencies. It would seem that her lack or worry though is shared by many here. Congrats
Please forgive me in advance, but YOU ARE SO NAIVE.
We pay Dubai/UAE billions and billions of dollars for the right to put our bases and ports on their soil. Check it out.
They don't allow us there because they are in love with the West.
If we were to stop sending our dollars there, do you really think they'd be so accomadating to our JUDEO-Christian ethics.
Somehow I don't think so.
When I leave for a six month naval deployment in September, I, for one, hope that this mess has blown over. My ship will pull into Jabal Ali several times and current US-UAE relations will likely determine if we are allowed to leave the confining "sandbox" surrounding the ship and take a 45 minute cab ride to Dubai.
I loved Dubai. I've been there three times. Fond, fond memories. A gem in the Middle East.
I'll give you a tip of the hat for that.
