I have some friends who's daughter was running one morning. She was abducted and butchered. The thought that she might be at fault in some way for what happened to her is something I would never agree with.
Your logic is faulty. In your analogy, Mr. Fox would be like somebody that defended the butcher of the girl and impeded efforts of the police to apprehend the perp. Fox was opposed to our efforts and, thus, he was an agent on behalf of what we are trying to stop over there. Ask yourself these questions: Was Chamberlain a useful tool of Hitler? Did his appeasement policies add to the causes of war or did they help prevent the horrors of WWII?
I'll grant you that no sound human would ever do to him what they undoubtedly did, but he is still a victim of his own ignorance. Be glad that he and his kind do not yet have control of all our lives or we will all end up like the poor girl you mentioned.
