“You are doing what democracy is supposed to be all about, petitioning the government to right a wrong,” said McCain.

What's the "wrong," John? The fact that we have immigration laws? The fact that we have borders at all?

This is what has become so wrong in this country. America achieved it's greatness by being the great melting pot, opening it's arms to people of all nations, creeds, religions, and color, people who came legally to its shores, pledged their loyalty, accepted America as their home, and worked as part of their community to become Americans.

It's hasn't always been easy, nor pretty, but, in the end, it's generally worked.

Now, America is the world's dumping ground, where the two top Presidential hopefuls rally around criminals, calling them 'heroes'...People who haven't paid a dime into our society, but expect to be given a home simply on the basis that they are here. The same logic would award a bank robber the money because he's holding it when he's caught.

I have no problem with ANYONE who comes to America legally, becomes part of the community and contributes to the greater good. One of my best friends is a naturalized Iranian who came to America to escape the Iranian Revolution. He has two college degrees and runs his own business. One of the proudest moments of his life was standing with his wife and daughter, raising his right hand, pledging his loyalty to America and receiving his citizenship.

You don't have to be a citizen to be in the United States military. You don't have to be a citizen to have a driver's license, hold a legal job, pay taxes or live among us. We only ask you arrive here legally and be obligated to do your part as part of the community. Are there problems? Of course.

But opening our borders to those that simply find their way to the shores will be disastrous. And if Clinton or McCain have their way, they will destroy any remaining remnants of the American dream.
