The saddest part of this whole debacle, is the name callimng. People that have been on the same side of the argument since 9/11, suddenly are at each others throats..

However, I think that you and Mark took Gen. Abizaid's comment WAY too wrong...
I think that he is over there, fighting a WAR...and part of that fight is keeping his troops ALIVE...and to do that, we have to "win hearts and minds"....so when something like this ports deal gets people SO upset...it is natural that the people in the Middle East would assume that it is because it is the United ARAB Emirates...that is part of the deal...
I think that Abizaid sees the danger for his troops if this deal sparked protests and violence because of even a pretense of Arab-bashing.
Plus, I don't think there are many (if any) that are accusing you of being racist, just based on your objections to the deal.
