I'm not so quick to write off anything. He projects energy and (to me) a dark charisma.

What's really scary is that my son (30's, life in the fast lane) likes him; I'm sure he would have voted for him if he had lived in Illinois. He ended up voting for Kerry, then said he regretted it when he told me about it.

My one daughter who you would most expect to vote Dem thought Kerry was a phony from the git go at the Iowa primaries. I rarely talk about anything political with her because she is still a wannabe "free spirit" who isn't so free any more, trapped by an addiction and husband who gets high on crack. I'm only saying this to illustrate that sometimes people don't necessarily vote the way you would expect them to.

My other daughter you would expect to vote Dem, too, but she doesn't.

My granddaughter campaigned for Kerry and I have a photo of her with him. I kept it up on the piano for awhile, but then she called me a bigot behind my back, so I put it away in a box. We have since made up, but the photo is still in the box in the closet :-).

My other relatives who are very wealthy voted for Bush the first time round, then got totally turned off by him and went for Kerry. Their brilliant, affluent son hates Ahnold.

So I'm pretty much the family lone wolf unregistered party affiliation who either votes Republican or doesn't vote.

I noticed that in my community, there were Kerry signs about 10 to 1 Bush, and many of them were in homes of what appear to be affluent people; I live in an affluent neighborhood both in middle-class and upscale neighborhoods, but don't fit the profile lol. Just happened that I got in here back when things were really cheap and married, never moved for 38 years. I think the minority of Bush voters didn't put signs out the second time.

My point in all this is never take anything for granted when it comes to politics.
