UPDATE: Well, it's been four months since I made this post asking for your prayers. I haven't updated much since then because I've been going for test after test, with most of them coming back negative, except for the seratonin level, which indicated that I still had carcinoid somewhere in my body, so I kept going in for more tests.
Well, this last week when I was being prayed for in church, again, we prayed that the tests come back negative, unless something is there, and in that case, let the test show where the tumor(s) is/are and let it be operable.
Well, God answered that prayer today. My latest CAT scan showed a small tumor in the ileum. I'm scheduled for surgery a week from tomorrow, and I'll be in the hospital for a week. The doctor expects I'll have a full recovery from the surgery and that there's a 50/50 chance I'll be cancer free following surgery.
He will biopsy the lymph nodes while he's in there, and if they're not cancerous, I should be home free!
So your continued prayers are requested for the success of the surgery and that my lymph nodes are healthy.
Thanks y'all, for all of your prayers.
I had a long ping list of everyone's names who replied on this earlier thread, but my computer crashed a few weeks ago and I had to reformat.
I didn't know you were sick, either. I'll pray the surgery next week excises the last bit of cancer from your body and that you live a long, healthy, happy, normal life afterward. Get well soon.
Just sent up a prayer for you alnick and will continue to keep you and yours in my prayers. I have faith you will come through this valley.
OMG! I had NO idea ... I had not seen this thread and didn't know you were having these health problems. Oh, I feel so bad - I wish you had told me.
You were so unselfish and asked if you could help me and I poured out my heart to you, only the 3rd FReeper I've done that with. And then I never heard from you again and it hurt so much, I cried.
I HAD NO IDEA that you were in this situation. I'm so sorry for what I thought and how I felt. The only 'good' thing is, I guess, that it made me pray for you very hard, as I know to do. I just was doing it for the wrong reasons - but I suppose prayer is prayer!
OMG ... OMG. You've taught me a great lesson in the silence.
Very, very best wishes and prayers for your recovery. I'm very sorry I miss so many threads, even though I try every day to get to as many as possible.
God bless you.
Wonderful news. More prayers are on the way.
Praying for a successful surgery and your full recovery. Godspeed.
Praying for you, alnick.
Hurry back; we need you here. :-)
I'll continue praying that EVERYTHING goes well and will rejoice w/you and your family!
New Jersey here, saying a prayer for your recovery.
