I was taken aback too at first until I looked into what it entailed. When very knowledgable people like Tommy Franks come out in favor of this it also influences my opinion. Today I am returning my envelope that I WAS going to put my contribution to the RNC in, with a little note that they can stick it up theirs and the congress/senate critters collective a$$ for their lack of support for the president and this deal.
Since just after the election in 11/04, when Republicans started turning on the president and did absolutely nothing to defend him against the leftist lies, my husband and I have told every caller and completed every envelope requesting $$ from the RNC that when our people start stepping up to the plate, we'll donate again. Until then...zippo.
