I swear this is Pat Buchanan's revenge.

Pat Buchanan has been politically irrelevant for a while, but he seems to have earned a special place in the psyche of the true Bush loyalists. He's like the boogeyman in the closet to you guys.

Not at all. It's his same closet-racism nationalistic tendencies that are being exhibited by the very people actively opposing the port deal. The folks that helped create the extreme reaction to this deal are the same folks hoping the US starts gunning down Mexicans on the border and going house to house doing mass arrests of illegals.

Buchanan failed in his protectionist efforts in the early 90's. But it gave birth to the modern day Mexican bounty hunters who oppose anything having to do with something other than a lilly-white foreigner.
